Fashionista in the making: Peter Brant Jr may be just 18, but his style is already well-evolved
His supermodel mother, Stephanie Seymour barely looks like she's reached her mid-thirties, so many will be surprised to learn that her son, Peter Brant Jr, celebrated his 18th birthday last week.
But despite his tender years, those on the New York social scene will be well aware that he matured in the style stakes a long time ago.
His look has evolved into a twist on the preppy aesthetic, including sharp blazers, skinny-leg trousers and decorative scarves and ties.
He is now a fashion week regular, and his sartorial instincts look set to make him a favourite with style bloggers.
But it seems Peter has always been well turned out on the red carpet.
An article on the Huffington Post paid tribute to the teen's dandy-like style over the past two decades.
A photo of him aged five, at the Star Wars 1: Phantom Menace premiere in 1999 sees him looking every inch the child style star in a tiny blazer and chinos.
But modelling designer looks on red carpets is just the tip of the iceberg where the younger Mr Brant's career in fashion is concerned.
In September, gossip columns and fashion wires were abuzz with the news that the then 17-year-old was going to be interviewing fashion's royalty for Interview magazine, one of the titles owed by his media mogul father.
He told WWD: 'I will be interviewing Daphne Guinness, who is an old friend of mine. Ralph Lauren, people like that. John Galliano.'

And his preparation? A lesson in interviewing technique from none other than family friend Charlie Rose.
It seems the world is his oyster though. Mr Brant Jr has also done some acting and modelling, and has also expressed an interest in a career in the art world.
The art history major told nymag.com: 'I always want to collect art. I mean, art is a big part of my family, it’s a big part of me growing up, and I always want to have a collection, I always want to contribute to the arts and patronize the arts, and it’s something that’s very important to me.'

Last January Mr Brant Jr and his mother made headlines after pictures were published of the two canoodling, in what some considered an inappropriate manner, on the beach in St Barts.
Mr Brant Jr sent a message to Gawker rebuking any claim that would suggest the photos showed anything other playful affection.
'We have nothing to hide,' he insisted. On his Facebook page he went one step further adding: '... and with that in mind I would like to say that I am openly gay.'
