Considering some of his previous faux pas, there must be more than one person who wouldn't mind giving Jonathan Ross a bit of a dressing down.

So it must have been pretty satisfying to watch Olympics Taekwondo hopeful Jade Jones give him a seeing to on his latest show.

The athlete gave Jonathan a kicking as he attempted to fend her off while wearing a protective body suit.

She demonstrated her champion moves as the 51-year-old covered his face with his gloved hands, looking understandably terrified.

It appears he got off lightly however, as Jade tweeted after filming: 'Had an amazing time filming for the Jonathan Ross show , but kicked john bishops elbow hahaha'

The chat show host was joined by three of Britain’s brightest hopes for gold this summer – Swimmer Francesca Halsall, Heptathlete Louise Hazel and Jade.

The threesome chatted about their sporting past, with Francesca confessing that she didn’t like swimming as a child.

'I hated swimming. I didn’t like getting my hair wet and the split ends are horrific!,' she laughed.

She explained how she grew to love the sport, continuing: 'My auntie used to swim and she had loads of medals up at my grandma’s house and I used to try them on. She swam at national level and my competitive nature took over.'

Heptathlete Louise admitted that she is looking forward to the partying scene during the London Olympics, divulging: 'It’s wild. It’s like a cattle market!'

She was endearingly open abut the current state of her love life, revealing; 'I’m heartbroken at the moment. Vulnerable but available.'

Jonathan was also joined by physicist Brian Cox, who talked about his early love for music, saying: 'I got a D in my A-Level Maths. When I was 18 I’d already joined a rock band and I was just crawling to my A-levels.'

'I thought ‘I love doing physics but I want to be a musician,’ he added. 'I’d wanted to be in a band since I saw Duran Duran in Leeds when I was 16.'

Stand up comedian John Bishop also appeared, and revealed that he will be taking part in Sport Relief for the first time this year.

'It came about because James Corden phoned me up and said ‘do you want to do something for Sport Relief next year?’. I agreed and we came up with the challenge,” John explained.

'And then James’ play took off so now he’s not going to be around, he’ll be over in Broadway!' he laughed.

John chatted about his stand up tour, revealing that the experience has helped him to bond with his son.

'I had an argument with my sons about Saturday Night Fever being the brilliant film that it was. For our generation it’s a fantastic film. I thought let’s finish it (the show) with me doing Saturday Night Fever,' John explained.

'I got 20 dancers in, within it we had a couple of lads dancing, one of them is my middle son. It’s been brilliant because I’ve got three boys and the other two play football so as a dad I’ve always engaged with them, but because he dances I’ve never had that same connection with him, so when I got this opportunity it was brilliant.'
