Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz Beckham have spent the last several years watching their father play for LA Galaxy under the beaming Californian sun.
But there was no doubt that for David, the occasion marked something of a homecoming.
And it looked as though his enthusiasm as rubbing off as the family watched his old team Manchester United score a 3-2 FA Cup against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium today.
Keeping it in the family: David Beckham and his sons Romeo, Brooklyn and Cruz were completely engrossed as they watched Manchester United score a 3-2 FA cup win against Man City at the Etihad Stadium today
Change of scene: The boys are more used to watching their father play for LA Galaxy in sunny California
They'll have to enjoy their time across the pond while they can, as it looks as though the family are likely to be heading back to LA before too long.
David recently revealed that he will not be making the move to the French capital to play for Paris Saint Germain.
Future plans: Though it was thought likely that David was due to sign a contract with Paris Saint Germain, it is now believed that he will remain at LA Galaxy
The footballer, who is currently in the UK with his family on a winter break from America after winning the MLS title last November, is now expected to sign a new deal with LA Galaxy.
David has also announced that he is planning to make moves into other fields in the near future.
Looking suave: As ever David was fashionably turned out- appropriate considering he has voiced an interest in creating his own clothing line
'I have had the idea of doing a bodywear collection for some time now,' he told WWD.
'The push to do something of my own really came as a result of my collaboration with Armani.'
David's appearance on giant billboards across the world worked extremely well for the designer brand and resulted in a doubling of profits for the company in one year.
No hard feelings? David bumped into Manchester City's Mario Balotelli in the stands
'I can't wait to show people the collection - although I'm not sure my mum will be too happy seeing a billboard image of me in underwear again.'
The new H&M underwear range will be available to buy in H&M stores from February 2.
