The Girl With The Most Stylish Outfit: Rooney Mara is effortlessly chic at the AFI Awards

She has won rave reviews for her role of edgy computer hacker Lisbeth Salander in the latest film adaptation of The Film With The Dragon Tattoo.
But it seems Rooney Mara is also a winner in the fashion stakes, arriving at today's AFI Awards in Beverly Hills looking effortlessly chic in a gold and black sleeveless top, skirt and belt by Lanvin.
Her dark hair, which for the film, starring Daniel Craig, was teased into a geometric punky style, looked a little softer with an updo and fringe.

The 26-year-old star looked happy and relaxed as she posed with the film's director David Fincher and rubbed shoulders with a slew of stars out to promote their movies at the beginning of award season.
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo was one of several films honoured by the AFI for excellence at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills.
George Clooney's The Descendants is among the big-screen honorees, which also include Moneyball, Bridesmaids, J. Edgar, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, and The Help.

However, Rooney faced some stiff competition from some of the other ladies at the event, with Claire Danes taking the plunge in a white dress with black belt.
The actress – who is likely to win an award at Sunday’s Golden Globes for her performance as a CIA agent in the Showtime TV drama series, Homeland, looked stunning in a monochrome ensemble which plunged down to her stomach.
The blonde teamed her outfit with a pair of navy blue pointy heels, and displayed only minimal accessories in the form of two rings and small earrings.

The actress was given some serious competition in the form of The Help star Jessica Chastain, 30, who donned black and white for the occasion.
The redhead screen star donned a relatively high neck collaboration of a black vest with see-through panelling and a full-zip front skirt reminiscent of a Chanel design.
She joined The Help co-star Octavia Spencer who wore a black lace and gold dress.

The ladies happily rubbed shoulders with a dapper looking George Clooney who was fresh from winning the Critics Choice Best Actor Award for his role as a struggling father in The Descendants.
He posed alongside two of his female co-stars from the film, tipped to be in the running for the Best Picture Oscar.

Meanwhile The Artist actress Berenice Bejo looked particularly happy, given that her film is a favourite to bag the Best Picture Oscar.

Elsewhere in the fashion stakes, up and coming actresses Chloe Moretz plumped for an unusual yellow and black ensemble, while Game of Thrones star Emily Lloyd looked stunning in white.
