She has won rave reviews for her role of edgy computer hacker Lisbeth Salander in the latest film adaptation of The Film With The Dragon Tattoo.

But it seems Rooney Mara is also a winner in the fashion stakes, arriving at today's AFI Awards in Beverly Hills looking effortlessly chic in a gold and black sleeveless top, skirt and belt by Lanvin.

Her dark hair, which for the film, starring Daniel Craig, was teased into a geometric punky style, looked a little softer with an updo and fringe.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo was one of several films honoured by the AFI for excellence at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills.

George Clooney's The Descendants is among the big-screen honorees, which also include Moneyball, Bridesmaids, J. Edgar, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, and The Help.

The blonde teamed her outfit with a pair of navy blue pointy heels, and displayed only minimal accessories in the form of two rings and small earrings.
