Last updated at 8:27 AM on 21st December 2011
David Beckham has agreed to join Paris St Germain and will move to the French capital in January, it was reported tonight.
Le Parisien newspaper, which has excellent contacts at France's richest club, carried the news as an exclusive on its website, with more details promised in tomorrow's edition.
The paper claims that, following four months of negotiation, Beckham has approved a year-and-a-half long contract with the former England captain, who currently plays for LA Galaxy in America.

The Parisien reads: 'Its done! After four months of negotiation, the capital's club has just received an agreement in principal from David Beckham for the signature of a contract of one-and-a-half years.
'He will sign the document next January.'

The headline to the article reads: 'David Beckham at PSG, it's done!'
The 36-year-old will earn an after-tax salary of 800,000 euros a month in Paris, or 4.5 million euros over 18 months.

But that figure is likely to be multiplied many times over thanks to marketing deals included in the hugely lucrative contract.
The multi-million pounds package will include a new home in the Paris area for Beckham's family, and school places for his sons, Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, nine and Cruz, six.
Wife, Victoria, is said to be very happy about the move, and will relocate to France, together with the couple's six month old baby daughter, Harper.
PSG's new owners, Qatar Sport Investments, have the immense wealth of the Gulf emirate behind them, and are said to have offered the Beckhams 'anything they want' in emigrating from the USA, said a club insider.

Victoria is said to have visited the French capital to look at apartments to rent in the city, and at family homes on the outskirts.
Beckham's five-year contract with LA Galaxy ends on December 31, and he is likely to move to Paris a few days later.
Earlier this month a source close to the family said: 'David may be coming towards the end of his career but he is still so dedicated to the game and he's desperate to go out on a high.'
However, as with the famous family, nothing is quite as it seems and a spokesperson for the football star at Simon Fuller's company XIX Entertainment denied the claim.
They said: 'No agreement with any football club has been reached.
'Any talk of a deal is premature. David is considering his options.'
Another source close to Beckham said it is not definitive that he will sign with PSG as he could remain with LA Galaxy; with whom he won the MLS title last season.
