Power couple: David and Victoria have been looking into private schools for their boys
The Beckhams, who left LA this weekend, are home for Christmas and have been looking at schools in both Britain and Paris, amid news that David, 36, is set to sign a deal with Paris Saint-Germain any day now.
The family will spend Christmas at their Hertfordshire mansion, dubbed ‘Beckingham Palace’, and I can reveal the couple have enrolled all three sons – Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, nine, and Cruz, six – at a nearby day school should they choose to base themselves in Britain.
‘David is on the brink of committing to either Paris Saint-Germain or a UK club,’ says a family friend. ‘He’ll make the announcement just after the New Year.
‘They are preparing to be back in Britain and have been looking at schools for the boys. David is keen on one particular school because it’s in the area where he grew up and when he was a child he always wished he could have gone there.’
Victoria – who gave birth to daughter Harper Seven in July – was initially reluctant to leave LA, but friends say she now backs the move.
Home: The couple have been looking at schools close to where David grew up, sparking rumours they are in the UK to stay
Victoria’s one condition is that the family will return to LA at some point in the future.
‘Victoria wants to come back to London and live between the capital and Paris but she won’t give up the place in LA. The advantage of being over here is they can spend more time with their families. But they love LA so it’s likely they will be back there soon.’

Famous in Chelsea maybe: Ollie Locke was refused entry
Famous In Chelsea, perhaps – but nobodies in Mayfair. That was the verdict when Made In Chelsea stars Ollie Locke and Hugo Taylor, 24, tried to stroll into London’s trendiest new nightclub Le Baron the other night. Ollie, 24, and Hugo, whose complicated love lives are enthralling MIC viewers, presumably wanted to see what all the fuss was about at the Mayfair establishment popular with Naomi Campbell and Jude Law.
But embarrassingly for the pair – especially Ollie, who is a VIP nightclub host – they were told that reality stars aren’t welcome. One diner at Embassy Mayfair, a restaurant above the Le Baron, could barely contain her mirth. She told me: ‘They were politely asked to leave.’
...........................................................Gavin & Stacey star James Corden has won the affection of his idol, Sir Paul McCartney.
The chubby comedy actor, 33, and his fiancee Julia Carey, 31, named their first child Max McCartney in March after James’s favourite Beatle.
Paul, 69, was so touched by the tribute that he had a gift made for Max.
‘James was thrilled when a blanket arrived for Max with “From one McCartney to another” sewn into it,’ says a friend.
‘James said Paul made a joke about how horrified he was when he first heard about the baby’s name. But the gesture showed he was really quite touched.’

Soul singer Joss Stone is busily planning her next musical adventure – making an album in the US.
‘I am going to LA next week to work with Dave Stewart and I can’t wait because he’s great,’ says the 24-year-old.
Joss is calling the new album Home Made Jam.‘I am going to LA next week to work with Dave Stewart and I can’t wait because he’s great,’ says the 24-year-old.
And the alleged attempt to kidnap and murder her in the summer – when two men were arrested near her Devon home in June – hasn’t shaken her self-belief.
‘I’m doing really well and I’m very happy,’ she says.
