Did we mention we're already gearing up for a certain awards ceremony later? Tonight at the Savoy Theatre in London, the BFC’s British Fashion Award ceremony will include a brand new category! As industry experts cast their votes for the winners of this year’s awards, they created a new category to seek and recognise a particular movement in British fashion that is taking the industry by storm.

The idea behind the New Establishment Award is to celebrate designers that have surpassed the first flash of publicity to establish themselves as new luxury brands competing on the international scene – no mean feat in today’s economic climate, especially considering that most high-end fashion brands these days have hefty financial backers, or are owned by conglomerates such as LVMH or Gucci Group.

In the words of the BFC, brands such as the inaugural nominees Christopher Kane, Erdem and Jonathan Saunders are ‘bringing innovation to a luxury market. [They are] sophisticated and exciting, they have surpassed being emerging designers and are growing into dynamic businesses, compelling even the most seasoned fashion retailers and journalists to sit up and take note’. Indeed they are, say Grazia Daily!
Best of luck to Christopher, Erdem and Jonathan tonight!
Stay tuned to Grazia Daily all day and this evening for more and more British Fashion Award updates, including our tweets from the red carpets and live updates throughout the ceremony!
