When Barney's New York announced that Lady Gaga would be giving it a festive makeover for the holidays, expectations were high.
And the singer didn't disappoint this evening as she unveiled a series of outlandish creations to launch the season.
Dressed in a snowy white Chanel ballgown and strings of pearls, the 25-year-old made for a glamorous ambassador for the designer department store.

The look clearly impressed a young fan, who grinned as she posed beside the eccentric star, whose much-anticipated Gaga's Workshop includes installations and artwork across the city.
Brash and playful giant inflatable 'sculptures' project the unambiguous message that Gaga has well and truly landed in New York City.
Tonight's launch saw street performers dance before a giant spider by the Flatiron building, and a giant purple claw at Broadway and Houston Street.

As for the designer mecca itself, Madison Avenue was lined with garishly decorated cars, where the dancing continued.
A glimpse of the window displays show a boudoir sets that appear to have been made out of hair. From the mirror frame to the chair and curtains, silver strands of hair create an eerie scene.
The entrance, meanwhile, has been transformed into an outlandishly colourful monster mouth - with customers expected to walk through its giant jaws towards the fifth-floor installation.

Gaga is joined by stylist Nicola Formichetti, Eli Sudbrack and Christophe Hamaide Pierson for the overhaul of the space, which is a take on a Santa's grotto.
She and her team have decorated and filled the entire fifth floor, a massive 5,550 square feet, with products - many of which seem to be an ode to the songstress and performer.

$15 cookies featuring the star's image in frosting will be on sale alongside candy, toys, apparel, accessories, holiday collectables and a media library within the grotto's eight mini stores.
Candles and cosmetics will be on sale in a 'boudoir' area, which will mimic one of the giant wigs of which Gaga is so fond.
A jewellery store will be carved from none other than a giant spider.
