Did you put your dress on upside down? Drew Barrymore wears a bizarre orange frock to Covergirl anniversary party

We've become accustomed to seeing Hollywood's finest walking the red carpet in offbeat creations.
But actress Drew Barrymore committed a serious fashion faux pas with her choice of outfit for the Covergirl 50th anniversary party in Hollywood on Wednesday night.
The 35-year-old attended the bash in a very odd-looking strapless gown with a gathered hemline - which made her look as though she had put it on the wrong way up.

And to make matters worse, it was in a shade of bright orange which resembled that used in prison uniforms - all of which confirmed that Drew has indeed seen better days on the red carpet.
Still, it didn't stop the former child star from having a good time at the party - in honour of the renowned cosmetics company - at Boa Steakhouse in the west of the city.
She was photographed with a stream of guests throughout the evening, including singer Taylor SWift - who attended the bash in a stylish strapless black dress - and Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, who opted for monochromatic outfits.

Other guests at the party included actress Sofia Vergara - best known for the TV hit Modern Family - who wore an eye-catching fitted dress, while Taylor Swift kept it simple in a black strapless number.
The singer was clearly in the mood for celebrating after picking up the Favourite Country Star prize at the People's Choice Awards earlier that evening.
'Thank you so much for my People's Choice Award. It's sitting here all sparkly in my hotel room. I love you guys,' she later said on her Twitter page.

TV presenter Cat Deeley, socialite and designer Whitney Port and reality TV star Lauren Conrad were also among those who attended.
And it was a good night for models, with both Rachel Hunter and Niki Taylor turning up, Rachel going with the ever-popular all-black outfit and Niki - who also attended the People's Choice Awards - providing a contrast in a dark blue dress.
Kendra Wilkinson also attending, bringing along husband Hank Baskett, while Queen Latifah bypassed the high heels worn by many of the guests and instead teamed her black tuxedo suit with a pair of matching trainers.

Drew Barrymore was another star who had reason to celebrate on Wednesday night, after recently securing herself a bargain new home.

The actress negotiated a $1million discount off her new home in Santa Barbara, bagging the luxury mansion for a discounted $7million.
The Mediterranean-style villa sits in the exclusive enclave of Montecito, where homes start at more than $2million.

Amongst her new neighbours, she will find chatshow host Oprah Winfrey, and fellow actors John Cleese, Kirk Douglas, Steve Martin, Rob Lowe and Billy Baldwin.

And the star is set to have a busy 2011 with a new film set to go into production.
Everybody Loves Whales will see Drew star alongside Kristen Bell and John Krasinski in a story about an aid worker and a government worker trying to free whales trapped in the Arctic Circle. It is due for release in early 2012.

And it will be Drew's first time in front of the camera since she appeared in last year's drama Going The Distance.
She also made her directorial debut in 2009 with Whip It, a drama about a roller derby team.
