It's a prospect most women shudder at - the thought of going from long hair to a short 'do.

But Leona Lewis has managed to get around the drama of chopping off her locks but opting for a 'faux bob', pinning the ends of her hair up to give her the impression of a shorter look.

The 26-year-old singer did however take the plunge with a new hair colour, going for a rich brunette, in contrast to her previous dip-dyed brown and blonde look.

Leona unveiled her new look as she went to watch Ghost: The Musical at London's Piccadilly Theatre.

Wearing a chic black and white patterned coat over a black pencil skirt and blush heels, Leona looked stylish and elegant as she made her way in for the show.

Former Pop Idol winner Will Young was also coincidentally at the theatre to watch the musical.

Meanwhile, it has been announced Leona is just one of the artists set to pay tribute to the late legend Michael Jackson in a tribute concert later this year.

Leona will be taking to the stage at Cardiff's Millenium Stadium on October 8th as part of the Michael Forever Tribute Concert.

She will be joined by musical stars including Christina Aguilera, JLS, Cee Lo Green, while singers including Jay-Z, Kanye West and Justin Bieber have apparently been approached for the occasion.

A statement from the promoter Global Live Events read: 'The organisers of the Michael Forever Tribute Concert are very mindful of the expectations of the fans, who have waited over two years for an event that will do justice to Michael's musical legacy.

'Some of the greatest names in music are already signed, and more are trying to shuffle other commitments to come on board.'
